In the framework of the TRANS-ALP Project, EURAC Research, together with EPC srl and ARPAV, organized this online workshop to arise awareness and foster discussion on the risk arising from severe hydro-meteo events in the context of Climate Change. It was the occasion to highlight and analyse potential similarities between past and recent disasters, like Vaia, Central Europe floods, and other, as a hint of what might happen in the future, taking into consideration the most recent data and estimations about climate change.
The workshop was held online and consisted on two sessions of high-level panellists’ speech, plus a guided discussion with Q&A session open to inputs, feedbacks and ideas from the audience.
The event was addressed to researchers, practitioners and policy makers in the fields of risk and disaster forecast, prevention, management, assessment, but also to local authorities, civil protection operators, climate change researchers, and to the general public.
