The Erasmus + KA220 project “EcoMystery: Interactive Escape Rooms to raise awareness of the climate crisis and civic engagement in school education”officially began on 1 December 2024, of which EPC is proudly the leader.
The EcoMystery project aims to promote innovative education on climate crisis issues through the use of enganging and interactive teaching methodologies. These are the main characteristics and strong points of the project
- Introduction of gamification: Offer teachers tools and methodologies based on gamification, with a particular focus on escape rooms, to make learning dynamic and stimulating.
- Active student involvement: encourage students to become protagonists in the search for effective solution for a sustainable critical thinking and collaboration.
- Use of digital tools: Integrate innovative digital tools to motivate the school community to take a proactive role in environmental action by facilitating access to interactive educational resources.
In addition to EPC, two educational institutions are participating in the project as partners, Agrupamento Escolas Dr. Correia Mateus – AECM (Portugal) and Centrul Județean de Excelență Galați (Romania), two other SMEs with specific gamification and digital teaching skills, Bluechain SCE (Greece) and Social Nebula Single Member P.C. (Greece), and a university that will help develop training materials for teachers, Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave (Slovakia).
The first step of the project, scheduled for the beginning of 2025, consists of collecting the educational needs of the countries involved, through a series of interviews and focus groups that will be carried out in all the countries directly involved in the project. This initial phase is fundamental to understand the specific educational needs of each context and to develop adequate and relevant teaching materials.
As EPC, we are really excited to embark on this journey that combines education, innovation and sustainability, with the aim of training new generations to become aware and active citizens in the fight against the climate crisis.
